Our AOL® Media Player is a hybrid player which includes
multiple technologies that is based on various peices of multimedia software
such as Winamp and RealPlayer. The embedded player was introduced in the fall of 2000 as a feature of the AOL 6.0 client. The goal was to allow AOL members to quickly and easily
display multimedia content on the web through the use of an AOL media player. Our
player supports digital download and playback of secure (wma file type only) and
non-secure formats, streaming and video.
